Authorized in 1993 and awarded to officers in aircraft maintenance/munitions and space/missle maintenance career fields. Individuals must have completed a technical school in a designated maintenance specialty. This badge replaced the aircraft and munitions maintenance badge, the missle maintenance badge and the communications-electronics maintenance badge.
Master badge is awarded after 15 years for officers and to E-7s or above who have performed at the craftsman skill level for at least 5 years.
